Miami Native and Olympic Bronze Medalist Jennifer Rodriguez Visits Mini ’Canes Campers

Coral Gables (July 09, 2012) — With the London Summer Olympics only a few days away, Miami native Jennifer Rodriguez, who captured two bronze medals in speed skating at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, paid a visit to about 150 youngsters in the University of Miami’s Mini ’Canes Recreational Sports Camp on June 29, giving them a short introduction on her sport and teaching them about the importance of Olympic competition.

Rodriguez is a familiar face around the UM campus. She is studying athletic training at the School of Education and Human Development and is a trainer at the Herbert Wellness Center.
