M.B.A. Program Ranked Among the Nation’s Best

School of Business garners high marks in Princeton Review’s The Best 300 Business Schools.

Coral Gables (October 13, 2010) — The M.B.A. program at the University of Miami’s School of Business Administration is recognized among the nation’s best by the Princeton Review in the 2011 edition of its book, The Best 300 Business Schools. The school is ranked No. 6 in the U.S. in the “Greatest Opportunity for Minority Students” category and No. 7 in the U.S. in the “Most Competitive Students” category, which is based on such factors as program workload and academic pressure.

“Diversity and academic rigor are both critical components of any world-class M.B.A. program,” said Dean Barbara E. Kahn. “We’re delighted to see the school recognized once again among the very best of the hundreds of business schools considered for the Princeton Review’s annual report.”

The 2011 edition of The Best 300 Business Schools includes profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life, and admissions, plus ratings for their academics, selectivity, and career placement services. In the profile on UM’s School of Business Administration, the Princeton Review editors describe the school as excelling in “numerous disciplines. Students laud the ‘strong finance department,’ the ‘great M.B.A. in international business,’ the ‘strong marketing curriculum,’ and UM’s ‘good slant towards the health fields…’ ”

The Princeton Review does not rank the business schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 300, or name one business school best overall. Instead, the book has 11 ranking lists of the top 10 business schools in various categories. UM’s School of Business Administration is one of 66 schools in the book that appear on one or more of the book’s ranking lists. The rankings can be found online at the Princeton Review website.
