Dave Barry Gets Serious

Syndicated humor columnist and award-winning alum speaks to UM students.

Coral Gables (April 05, 2011) — Dave Barry is synonymous with the word humor. For 25 years he wrote a nationally syndicated humor column for The Miami Herald, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1988. On March 31, Barry brought his distinctive wit and personality to the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus, presenting the lecture “Cheating Is No Laughing Matter” at the Storer Auditorium to kick off Academic Integrity Week. The event also helped celebrate the 25th anniversary of the UM Undergraduate Honor Council.
