November 05, 2010 — Coral Gables — The UM School of Architecture Center for Urban & Community Design [CUCD] is presenting South Florida’s version of the nationwide design/build competition known as CAN-struction. Students, faculty, staff and alumni will be competing for the title of “Best Canstruction” by building their favorite structures out of donated food cans. All donations will benefit Camillus House.
WHEN:
• Donation of Canned Goods: Anytime between now and November 17.
• Building the CAN-structures: Wednesday, November 17, from noon to 2:30 pm
WHERE: The University of Miami School of Architecture Courtyard, 1223 Dickinson Drive, Coral Gables.
WHO/HOW: Anyone can donate. Teams may bring their own cans to the event or drop them off ahead of time. They will have two hours to build their structures and the winner team will win a prize.
Collection boxes are located at the School of Architecture main office, computer lab, and lecture hall.
