CaneNet’s authentication (or "log on") process will inform you if your CaneID or MAC address is being blocked from connecting to CaneNet.

There are several reasons why you may not be allowed to login to CaneNet.

 

1. Your machine has not been registered for use on CaneNet.

Solution : Click on the link to the EASY system and complete the registration process.

2. CaneNet Access has been disabled for your machine. CaneNet access is disabled for systems that have been compromised with viruses, have attacked other systems on the network, or have illegally hosted copyrighted materials.

Solution : Call the Help Desk to have your machine re-enabled.

3. Your CaneID has been disabled. CaneNet access is disabled for users who have violated UM’s Acceptable Use Policy (A060).

Solution : Call the Help Desk to have your CaneID re-enabled.
