About Document Management

September 2010 will mark the 17th anniversary of the University’s Electronic Document Management System, dating back to the first implementation in September, 1993 in the Employee Benefits Office. We have come a long way since then, and Information Technology now supports 100+ departments with over 300 separate applications, including Alumni Development, Human Resources, Financial Assistance, Admissions, Registrars, Medical Records, Purchasing and many more.

The system supports approximately 99 scan workstations, 843 view workstations, and hundreds of secured web accesses through the DMAS system across the entire University. Over these past 17 years, we have digitally enabled 66,500,000 pages representing 12,500,000 documents, and recovered thoursands of square feet of office space by eliminating filing cabinets while improving productivity and customer relations.
