For continuous efforts in outreach and building networks for women and minority suppliers.  We were nominated by one of our minority suppliers, and competed with Baptist, Miami Dade College, FPL and Broward College.

The University’s IT department was recognized as one of 100 top organizations that challenge their IT staffs while providing great benefits and compensation. UM, ranked # 50, is one of two academic institutions to make the top 50. The University also came in at # 3 for the category of diversity.

Fit-Friendly Companies are recognized by the American Heart Association as employers who go above and beyond when it comes to their employees’ health.

The award was given in recognition of the University’s health care and Well ’Canes programs which help faculty and staff lead healthy and well-balanced lives.

The award honors companies whose diversity and inclusion practices transcend the norm.  UM was honored for best practices and innovative initiatives for promoting diversity.

The University received the Business Corporate Champion award, which recognizes the institution as a champion when it comes to supplier diversity. In the last two fiscal years, it has been estimated that total minority expenditures at UM exceeded $140 million.
