Recreational opportunities abound at the University. The Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center at the Coral Gables campus features a 17,000-square-foot fitness room with the latest equipment for cardiovascular exercise and strength training equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines, rowers, and much more. The Center also features health and fitness programs, an indoor pool designed for swimming laps, four multipurpose rooms, racquetball/squash courts, and an elevated indoor track. A cycling studio with 33 stationary bikes and a Pilates studio with five reformer machines are also featured in the Center. Other Coral Gables campus recreational facilities include tennis courts and playing fields. The Norman G. Whitten University Center has an Olympic-sized swimming pool and diving well.
The Medical Wellness Center on the Miller School campus brings together health and fitness in a state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot facility offering: a 15,000-square-foot fitness room with the latest in weight training and cardiovascular equipment; three spacious aerobic/group exercise studios featuring high-tech sound systems; and men's and women's locker rooms with full-length lockers, showers, and wet/dry saunas. A therapy pool for rehabilitative exercise, group exercise classes, and individual training, and an indoor cycling room are also available.
The Rosenstiel Fitness Center is located in the North Grosvenor Building, Suite 170. The center provides weight training and cardiovascular equipment.
Season tickets to all University of Miami football, basketball, and baseball games are available at a reduced rate to regular full-time employees.
Social and cultural events are scheduled throughout the year. The activities are many and varied, including drama at the Ring Theater, exhibits at the Lowe Art Museum, musical presentations at Gusman Concert Hall and Clarke Recital Hall, and many outstanding speakers and lecturers. Discount tickets for employees are often available for many of these events.

Bookstore is located in the Norman G. Whitten University Center on the Coral Gables campus. You may obtain a discount on books and supplies at the University bookstores by presenting your 'Cane Card (University ID).

The UM Canterbury Preschools, which are accredited by the National Association of Education of Young Children, are nonprofit campus children's centers committed to providing high-quality child care and excellent early childhood educational programs for young children from 2 months to 5 years old. They provide a safe and nurturing environment that meets the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive domains of the child. UM Canterbury provides children with a wide variety of activities that are developmentally and age appropriate in a multicultural and language-rich environment. The Professional Development and Training Office is part of the Division of Human Resources. It serves the University from two offices, one located on the Coral Gables campus and the other located on the Miller School campus.
The office is responsible for providing development and training services in a variety of areas, including orientation for new hires, management and supervisory skills development; leadership training, customer service training, and performance improvement.
Each location maintains a resource library composed of journals, newsletters, books, audio and videotapes, magazines, self-paced computer skills training packages, and other materials available for checkout. At both locations, employees may view DVDs, CD-ROMs, and video tapes in the self-directed learning area. The office also publishes an online catalog of workshops and seminars scheduled among the campuses throughout the year. All services are free of charge to University faculty and staff.

Full services, such as parcel post and stamp sales, are provided at the University branch of the United States Post Office located in the Norman G. Whitten University Center. At the Miller School campus, a post office branch is located in the Park Plaza West Garage, ground floor.
The University Credit Union, an independent corporation, is a cooperative savings and lending organization open to University staff, faculty, and their families. You may join the credit union after receiving your 'Cane Card. For further information, call 786-425-5000 or 800-230-4832.
Personal checks of a limited amount may be cashed at the cashier's window in the Ashe Building on the Coral Gables campus.
