1. How do you update an employee's name prefix of suffix, i.e. Dr. Ms., Miss., PhD., Jr.?

Employee prefixes are updated in the Update Name Process (UPDNAME) on the DHRS Green Screens only. This function is only available to Central Office users. Some prefix changes may require documentation before an update can be done such as the prefix Dr.

Only same sex partners. The code for emergency contact in DHRS biographical information should be DP.

10.I tried to update my address in myUM and the building is not in the drop down list, what do I do?

There are several reasons why a building does not appear in the drop down list:

  1. The building is brand new and hasn’t been added to the Space System as yet. Wait until the building is complete or if it already is, contact the Space System Administrator
  2. The wrong campus was selected from the campus drop down list. You must choose the campus where your work building is physically located. For example, if you work in a department that is part of the medical campus but you are located in the building Gables One Tower, you must select the campus Coral Gables.
  3. The building was renamed. Contact the Space System Administrator for assistance.

11. I tried to updated my work address in myUM and the department I work in is not in the drop down list, what do I do?

If your work department does not appear in myUM, first ensure that youa re using the correct department name. The department name officially exists if the department was created by the Controller's Office and if it is in the Department Hierarchy list in DHRS. If the department was renamed, ensure that you are using the most current department name. If you need assistance with any of this information, contact your Department HR Liaison.
