Honors Summer Research Program
Honors Curriculum: Course Offerings
The Honors Summer Research Program matches honors students, who have completed at least one semester at UM, with a faculty mentor on the Medical, Rosenstiel, and Coral Gables campuses to do research in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Approximately 20 students are selected. The students are required to work 6 to 8 weeks during the summer. Students in the program receive 3 Honors credits, a grade from the supervising professor in the fall semester, and a stipend of $1,500 at the completion of the research assignment. Students are encouraged to find their own housing for the summer. However, with a petition and approval from the Honors Program, you may be considered for housing assistance. Those students accepted to the Honors Summer Research program will receive more information on petitioning and the deadline for petition. Funds are limited and students who petition must plan to reside in University of Miami Residential College Conference Housing. Seniors graduating May or Summer 2012 are not eligible to participate.
