The Office of Government and Community Relations represents the University of Miami and acts as the liaison between the University and all federal, state, and local government offices, legislative bodies, local chambers, and community organizations; including but not limited to education, medical, research, and foreign affairs.

Our Mission

Assist the University President, administrators, faculty and staff to address concerns, plans for growth, funding and event planning in an efficient manner, when dealing with the different governmental offices, elected officials, community organizations and their staff.  Monitor laws, proposed legislation and local issues to ensure the concerns and best interest of the University are represented.  Promote positive relations between the University and federal, state, local government, community organizations and University neighbors.
