In collaboration with the UM Office of the Vice Provost for Research, the Ethics Programs coordinates instruction in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) at the University. UM’s schools and colleges administer their own RCR programs.
RCR education is required for UM affiliates who are involved in research and supported by NIH or NSF funds. It is also required by some UM colleges/schools and departments for all affiliates who may be involved in research, regardless of their funding source(s).
RCR TRAINING ONLINE AND FACE-TO-FACE
RCR education consists of online training via the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) and/or various face-to-face class options.
For CITI Program RCR courses, UM affiliates should use SINGLE SIGN ON (SSO) to access CITI Program via CaneID. (Click on the SSO link for instructions and the login pathway.) If you do not have a CaneID, login using CITI Program credentials at http://www.citiprogram.org instead.
For live RCR classes, see the LIST OF SCHEDULED RCR CLASSES for the next open session.
