Leading Ethicist Addresses Biological Enhancement
The Arsht Distinguished Speaker Series in Ethics began March 26, 2007, with a presentation to a standing-room-only audience in UM's Storer Auditorium by Dr. Arthur Caplan of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world's leading ethicists. Prof. Caplan's topic, "Good, Better, Best: Should We Improve Ourselves Through Biological Engineering?" drew more than 300 attendees from the community and across the university.
UM Provost Tom LeBlanc, Adrienne Arsht and Prof. Caplan listen to President Shalala’s introduction. Ethics Programs co-directors Kenneth Goodman and Anita Cava are behind Prof. Caplan.
