Title/Position: Research Associate


A Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The University of the West Indies (UWI), University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Mullings has been an invited presenter on aspects of ethics on numerous occasions and has organized and presented at Research Ethics conferences and workshops. As an Obstetricia,n he has a special interest in Perinatal Ethics. In 2005, in association with Ken Goodman and other,s he established the Caribbean Research Ethics Initiative (CREI) and an associated website –

Dr. Mullings served as a member of the development committee and is a founding member of the Bioethics Society of the English Speaking Caribbean (BSEC), is a member and Chairman of the first National Bioethics Committee for Jamaica, and is a Faculty member on a NIH Fogarty grant to the CITI Program and University of Miami Bioethics Programs.  He is also a member of the Developers Group of the CITI Program.  He currently sits on 3 Ethics Review Committees and is leading an initiative for the establishment of a University Centre for Ethics at The University of the West Indies.
