 Q:  What is the Certificate Program in Enrollment Management at the University of Miami?

The Certificate Program in Enrollment Management is designed for higher education professionals who already have a graduate degree, but recognize the important value of having credentials in Enrollment Management. Enrollment Management is a relatively new and important administrative career field in higher education, and individuals with the right combination of academic study and practical experience are in great demand. To address this need, the School of Education, in partnership with the Division of Enrollments, has designed a curriculum for seasoned professionals interested in honing skills and gaining credentials in this area. The program is designed to provide a broad understanding of all aspects of student enrollment, from first contacts with prospective students through graduation and beyond.

 Q:  What is involved in the program curriculum?

The Certificate Program in Enrollment Management is a 12-credit, 4-course graduate program composed of an introductory and an advanced course in enrollment management, and two courses related to higher education, business, and/or research methods. However, it is not limited to four courses, and the student is encouraged to devise his/her own program with an advisor, depending on particular needs. All courses are offered at convenient times for working professionals and usually meet once a week for three hours.

 Q:  How do I apply for admission?

Admission to the Certificate Program in Enrollment Management will be based on the following factors:

  • Completion of degree at the master's and/or doctorate level from an accredited institution
  • Completed application form for admission into the Graduate School of Education 
  • Transcripts of all completed undergraduate and graduate course work 
  • A current resume showing educational and professional experience 
  • At least three current letters of recommendation 
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience relevant to field of higher education

 Q:  What type of financial aid is available?

 Q:  If my employer is paying for my participation, what is the procedure?

You should notify us in writing (email or letter) that your employer will cover your cost. In addition, you should give us the (1) name, (2) title, (3) address, (4) telephone number, and (5) email address of the person who will be responsible for administering the payment. We in turn will contact this individual directly regarding the appropriate requirements/ instructions.
