The University of Miami is once again partnering with the Miami Dolphins in the fourth Dolphins Cycling Challenge (DCC) to “tackle cancer one mile at a time.”
The two-day event, scheduled for November 2 and 3, 2013, features ten different bicycle routes from 13 to 170 miles through Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
One hundred percent of the funds raised by the riders benefit UM’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which helps to further research and treatment for patients across South Florida and beyond. Thanks to your efforts, last year’s ride raised more than $2.2 million for Sylvester. Our inaugural UM-DCC Spin-a-Thon held on campus as part of the DCC effort was also a success, with almost 250 students in attendance who raised more than $5,000 for Sylvester.
With your help, we hope to surpass our goal in 2013. We are challenging the UM Community to join us for the ride and to recruit family and friends to join as well. We have created several options especially for our UM family:RIDE
Whether you ride, spin, fundraise as a virtual rider, or donate to the cause, join TEAM UM SYLVESTER in tackling cancer one mile at a time.
