The University of Miami is proud to call the City Beautiful home. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for all South Floridians by sharing our resources and providing visitors to campus a unique view of the world, and UM’s Coral Gables campus offers a wealth of educational and cultural outlets for the community to enjoy.
As part of a 20-year Development Agreement with the City of Coral Gables, the University offers a special lineup of our most popular athletic and cultural programs for Coral Gables residents. These offerings include a “buy one, get two free” ticket program for one home football game designated as “Coral Gables Day.” One thousand free tickets will also be available to residents for select home games in baseball and men’s and women’s basketball as well as tickets for select events at the BankUnited Center.
Throughout the year, six lectures are presented by UM faculty, thanks to the Coral Gables Lecture Series. Residents can also experience four Frost School of Music concerts and two cultural programs each year.
For most of these special events, residents will receive notification in the City of Coral Gables e-News and tickets are available for pick-up at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center. To sign up for these ticket notifications, contact the City of Coral Gables at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The city and UM have established an annual internship program at City Hall that gives two students experience in various aspects of government.
Additionally, faculty from the UM Miller School of Medicine and other areas of the University present four “Meet the Docs” lectures on a range of issues.
