Discussion Panel | College of Arts and Sciences Gallery and Conference Center |
Local experts on food topics will share their knowledge during a panel discussion and question and answer session. The panel will address issues including methods for creating sustainable food systems; ways to ensure equitable access to healthy food; means of preventing diet-related disease; and fair trade practices for food and farm workers. The panelists are Gabrielle Marewski of Paradise Farms, Antonio Guadamuz of the Urban Oasis Project and Verde Gardens, Brett Abess, UM Student and Entrepreneur, Gina Maranto, Journalist and Professor of Ecosystems Science and Policy at UM, and a Coalition of Immokalee Workers Representative. The panel will be moderated by Mario Yanez, founder and director of Earth Learning. |
