Urban and Environmental Sustainability: This interdisciplinary effort connects faculty, students, and community partners to address the human and environmental sides of sustainability in South Florida.

Southridge High School Partnership: UM students partner with Southridge High School teachers in history and language arts to enhance the curriculum, give guest lectures, and mentor students.

UM Civic Scholars Program:  UM students will develop civic leadership skills and translate their academic interests into real-world problem-solving skills to promote positive social change in the greater Miami community.

Engaged Faculty Fellows Program: This program is designed to incentivize the development of academic service-learning courses by awarding $2,500 summer stipends to five faculty members.

Focus on Affordable Housing: This initiative connects faculty and students with community partners to address strategies for improving housing options in Miami.

Gables Fellows Program: This is a paid internship with the City of Coral Gables which provides students with hands-on knowledge of the day-to-day operations of municipal government.

Imagining America Research Collaborative on Civic Professionalism: The purpose of this research collaborative is to create a baseline of information regarding the role of civic engagement in undergraduate liberal arts education.

Good Government Initiative: This program was developed by former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Katy Sorenson to train newly elected officials in good governing practices.
