March 29, 2013 — University of Miami —
On Thursday, March 28, 2013, in conjunction with University of Miami’s Abess Center for Ecosystem Science & Policy and Office of the President, the Office of Civic & Community Engagement hosted an evening lecture on “Growing the Good Food Revolution” featuring UM Alum Will Allen. Several hundred University and South Florida community members were in attendance to hear Mr. Allen share his strategies on how to transform the production and delivery of healthy foods to under-served communities, advocate for more locally grown food products, and use farming techniques that turn waste into soil and fertilizer.
