On Thursday, October 4, 2012, in conjunction with University of Miami’s School of Business Administration and School of Architecture, the Office of Civic & Community Engagement hosted a half-day conference bringing together local government, business, and housing leaders for discussions on “Workforce Housing in the New Economy.” This event took place at the Port of Miami and presented a unique opportunity to share ideas on today’s workforce housing challenges and opportunities in South Florida as well as across the country. Panels throughout the day included leaders from Miami area organizations such as Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida, South Florida Community Development Coalition, and more.
