Where is your hometown?
I am one of those rare Miami “natives” and a life-long Hurricane fan

What is your favorite thing to do in Miami?
A perfect day for me would start with some Cuban coffee and a tostada, followed by a walk over the Key Biscayne bridge. Of course, no day would be complete without a sushi dinner (which I could eat 5 nights a week) followed by a soft serve ice cream at Whip and Dip and a late night golf course dog walk – a Plummer family tradition.

What do you like best about UM?
I love the size of UM.  Where else can you find a 9,500 student school that has 9 different Schools and Colleges, top ranked sports teams and a renowned Music Hall all on a campus where you can walk from end to end in 20 minutes and only a metro ride away from one of the most diverse and vibrant metropolitan cities in the country?

What is your favorite UM event?
I come from a sports crazy family, so if I am not watching my own four kids doing their thing you will definitely find me following the ‘Canes – whether tailgating at a football game or cheering on the basketball team at the Bank United Center.

What advice would you have for a student that is having difficulties acclimating at UM?
When you first arrive in a new situation, surrounded by different people and possibly, far from home, it is typical to feel overwhelmed.  My advice would be to get involved right away.  Find a club or organization that you think you might enjoy and give it a try.  It is not a permanent commitment but is a starting point to developing your interests and focus.  You have nothing to lose – Just do it!
