You can enroll your spouse, same-gender domestic partner and eligible dependent children in any of the plans that offer dependent coverage.
Your eligible dependents are any of the following:
- Your legal spouse
- Your certified domestic partner
- Your unmarried, dependent child under age 19
- Your unmarried, dependent child over age 19, up to age 26, if a full-time student* (12 credits fall/spring - undergraduate and 9 credits fall/spring - graduate) at an accredited educational institution
- Your unmarried, dependent child over age 19 if mentally or physically disabled
Your dependent children include:
- Your natural child
- Your stepchild
- Your certified domestic partner’s child
- Your legally adopted child (or child placed with you for legal adoption)
* The age limit is 25 for dependent children enrolling in a dental plan. Although your child does not have to be a full-time student, he/she must be financially dependent on you.
