The University of Miami/Aetna benefit for autism includes the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Autism coverage will be limited to $36,000 per year and will include all benefits used through Aetna, Concordia Behavioral Health, and Special Employee Benefits except for Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Autism benefits will have a lifetime limit of $200,000, excluding ABA. Medical copayments and deductibles apply according to plan.
Benefits are based on medical necessity and are for enrollees 18 years of age or younger. Enrollment in UM/Aetna coverage is required.
NOTE: Effective 1/1/2014, ABA will not count towards the $36,000 annual benefit limit or the $200,000 lifetime limit.
