It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Graduate School. “A Place of Research, A World of Opportunity” could not better define the environment here at the University of Miami. With over 50 doctoral programs on three major campuses (Coral Gables, the Miller School of Medicine, and the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences), you will definitely find the research program that will enrich your career. Considering over 5300 graduate students representing over 125 distinct countries in our 11 schools and colleges, our graduate school provides opportunities characterized by a world-wide perspective.

The Graduate School at UM is among the most comprehensive in the country. The diversity of academic programs is only matched by the diversity of the student body both culturally and geographically. The Graduate School is the central advocate for campus-wide graduate programs while providing strategic leadership for growth and quality. Furthermore, the Graduate School is a resource for graduate students, providing guidance for program offerings, admissions guidelines, dissertation editing and electronic submission, and career preparation.

In addition to academic programs, students can expect to have a rich experience in the city of Miami. Miami is a vibrant and exciting city – an international hub. This global environment amplifies the scholarly engagement in all of our programs. Our programs are immersed in an international community of industry and government leaders who interact regularly with our students and graduates.

I hope you will join our community of scholars dedicated to innovation and excellence. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can provide you with information about our programs.
