FEATURED ENSEMBLE:
RHYTHM AND BLUES ENSEMBLE
Director: Chuck Bergeron
This large ensemble features students from several departments within the Frost School of Music, including Jazz Instrumental, Jazz Vocal, Classical Voice, Music Business, and the new Bruce Hornsby Songwriters program. The focus of this group is to familiarize students with the classic R&B repertoire of the 1950’s through the 1970’s through transcription and performance, and to go through the process, step by step, of putting a group together in the professional world - from preliminary auditions through concerts and recordings.

The R&B Ensemble performs extensively throughout the year at many venues across campus, and presents a concert each semester for the Musicology department.

In 2009 the group produced its first CD, recording entirely in the Frost School of Music's Weeks recording studio.
