String students perform in the Frost Symphony Orchestra, Chameleon Chamber Orchestra, and a variety of chamber music ensembles. Chamber groups are coached by the internationally known Bergonzi String Quartet on a weekly basis. Advanced students are selected to perform in the Frost Chamber Orchestra and in the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra.
Frost School alumni and new graduates teach in Colleges and Universities in the U.S., South America, and the Far East. They win positions in the New World Symphony or Chicago Civic Orchestra. They win scholarships for graduate study at Eastman, Cleveland Institute, Peabody, Stony Brook, Rice. They perform in such orchestras as the Chicago, Buffalo, Suisse Romande Symphonies, and the New York Philharmonic.
The Frost School is located in picturesque Coral Gables, Florida. Concert series featuring world-renowned artists and orchestras are presented on campus, and in the Arsht Center in downtown Miami, about nine miles from campus. Public transport and comp tickets are available.
