Craig Carothers


Craig Carothers was honored as a Stamps Distinguished Visitor during the 2011-2012 season at the University of Miami Frost School of Music for his acclaimed singing and songwriting. Originally from Portland, Oregon, he now makes his home in Nashville, Tennessee. His “Little Hercules” was recorded by Trisha Yearwood on her gold album Everybody Knows.

His songs have been recorded by artists such as Kathy Mattea, Lorrie Morgan, Sons of the Desert, Kate Markowitz, Andrea Zonn, Steve Seskin, Berkley Hart, and Peter, Paul and Mary. Carothers also wrote several songs for the soundtrack of the 2005 movie The Californians, including the title track.

Carothers served on the faculty of the Nashville Songwriters Association International “Song Camps” as well as numerous independent seminars and workshops around the country.
