Our Music Therapy Program offers four distinct degrees:
- The Bachelor of Music degree prepares students for clinical careers in music therapy, working with a broad range of clinical populations. Applicants must first audition and be accepted into the Frost School of Music in order to be considered for this degree program.
- The Master of Music degree program is designed for the individual who already holds an undergraduate degree in music therapy. This program prepares students for advanced-level clinical practice and introduces students to research and college teaching.
- The Master of Music Degree in Music Therapy with Undergraduate Equivalency is designed for the individual who has already completed a bachelor’s degree in some area of music (i.e., music performance, music education, etc.). This program ultimately prepares students for advanced-level clinical practice and introduces students to research and college teaching.
- The Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Music Education with Music Therapy Emphasis is designed for the individual with a previous degree in music therapy, a masters degree (either in music therapy or a related field), as well as substantial clinical experience. Students in this program should be interested in pursuing careers in music therapy-related research, college teaching positions in music therapy, or administrative positions.
