Piano Majors and Principals
For being considered for studio placement in piano for Fall, 2013, please follow the guidelines below.
- If you are a new UG or Graduate Piano Major joining FSM this Fall and do not know your studio placement, you must contact Professor Santiago Rodriguez, Chair of the Keyboard Performance at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). You do not need to play for the Placement Audition if you already know who you will be studying with.
- If you are a new UG Freshman or Transfer student with piano as your principal instrument, you must play for the Placement Audition (Date TBD). Please click here for updated schedule.
- Prepare 2 contrasting pieces to perform, preferably from memory. A typical placement audition lasts 5-10 minutes.
- WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY ADDITIONAL REQUESTS for elective lessons from non-FSM students for the 2013-2014 academic year.
- If you currently study piano with a graduate TA and would like to be considered for placement in a faculty studio, contact Dr. Naoko Takao at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please do not sign up for "Placement Audition for Piano Principals" unless you are a new Piano Principal.
