The Department of Keyboard Performance offers B.M., M.M., and D.M.A. degrees in Keyboard Performance, and additional graduate degrees in Collaborative Piano and Keyboard Performance and Pedagogy, as well as A.D. in Keyboard Performance. The programs are designed for highly capable and technically accomplished pianists who wish to pursue a career in performance and performance-related fields. Graduates receive training for careers as concert performers, chamber musicians, accompanists and/or artist teachers.

Keyboard performance majors study with our renowned faculty who have esteemed careers as distinguished teachers and performing artists. The curriculum emphasizes interpretation, musicianship, and technical mastery of the instrument. The keyboard faculty make every effort to cultivate musical independence and creative thinking in all students through private instruction, master classes and ensemble coaching. Instruction in harpsichord and organ is also offered, although not as a major concentration area. Chamber music, accompanying, and orchestral experiences are also available for keyboard majors.
