The curriculum emphasizes interpretation, musicianship, pedagogy, and technical mastery of the instrument. The keyboard faculty make every effort to cultivate musical independence and creative thinking in all students through private instruction, master classes and ensemble coaching. Instruction in harpsichord and organ is also offered, although not as a major concentration area. Chamber music, accompanying, and orchestral experiences are also available for keyboard majors.
