As Chairman of Instrumental Performance (MIP) in the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, I am excited and eager to invite you to look into our website home. In these pages I am certain that you will find inspiring and talented faculty as well as School of Music information that you will find remarkable and persuasive.

The Artist-Faculty in the Frost School consists of people who perform and teach at the highest artistic levels. All of our faculty enjoy current performing careers and continue to dedicate themselves to both performance and pedagogy. A careful review of each faculty member will reveal presentations of workshops, clinics and performances throughout the world in the most prestigious concert and teaching venues.

You are visiting the Frost School during an exciting time in our school’s history. The development of a new undergraduate curriculum has brought our brightest students to new levels of understanding in a very short time. At the heart of this new curriculum is a ‘hands-on with instruments’ approach to learning history, theory, composition, improvisation and performance. This approach is visceral and exhilarating to experience, both as student and teacher. Graduate students will find that the dedication, determination and care of the faculty, along with that of the administration and staff, will guide them to a successful career in music.

We are pleased that you have taken the time to look into our Frost School of Music ‘family’ and welcome your inquiry and correspondence. Should you desire, we will be very pleased to speak directly with you via phone or email. We are dedicated to your education and to your future and we are convinced that you will find this the school that can help you reach your goals and dreams.

I wish each of you success in these very important decisions you will make and look forward to meeting you in the near future. I know you too will find the Frost School of Music your very special ‘family.’

Gary Green, Chairman
