Mancini Fellowships often include graduate tuition plus a stipend at the Frost School of Music to work as a teaching assistant and perform in the HMI Orchestra. Fellowships are offered at the discretion of the Frost School of Music’s Graduate Admissions office. On occasion, composing fellowships are offered to graduate students who demonstrate an aptitude for composing and arranging for the unique instrumentation of the Mancini Institute Orchestra.
The age of most participants is 22-25. They are chosen through a highly selective admission and audition process. In addition to performing in the full orchestra, many Mancini Fellows also participate in an elite chamber orchestra, performing cutting-edge contemporary compositions as well as other major repertoire.
