The Moon River Society is a dedicated group of music patrons who have chosen the Henry Mancini Institute as one of their charitable activities. Our volunteer chair is Peggy Hollander, a UM trustee and member of the Frost School of Music’s advisory committee, a past president of the UM Citizen’s Board, and a long-time supporter of both Frost and the University of Miami.
Each Moon River Society pledge has the added bonus of a double match from the University of Miami: Mancini Fellows receive free graduate tuition. Our goal is to have 65 fully funded fellowships on an ongoing basis.
The Henry Mancini Institute is making a real difference in the culture of our region, adding to the expanding visual and performing arts scene. Dozens of creative, new Mancini Fellows arrive annually, and many end up loving it so much they stay on as residents after graduation, contributing to the vibrancy of our community. This is all possible due to the generosity of our Moon River Society supporters.
Moon River Society patrons receive special invitations to receptions and salons with Dean Shelly Berg, Artistic Director Terence Blanchard, and visiting guest artists. Moon River Society supporters also receive preferred seating at many HMI concerts in UM Gusman Concert Hall, when hosted by the Frost Development Office.
