June 27, 2011 — The Young Musicians Camp at the University of Miami Frost School of Music presents the Fifth Annual Simon Salz Memorial Concert. Featured musicians include vocalist Wendy Pedersen and veteran jazz artist Ira Sullivan. Opening the concert will be performances given by honors students from this year’s summer camp. The concert will take place Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Miami Clark Recital Hall, 5501 San Amaro Drive, Coral Gables, Fla.
The proceeds from this concert will provide scholarships to give the community’s talented, but financially needy, young musicians the opportunity to attend the Young Musicians’ Camp at UM.
The Annual Simon Salz Memorial Concert provides formal fundraising for scholarships and financial aid to support music education initiatives in South Florida. The Young Musicians’ Camp, created over a decade ago by the late South Florida guitarist, Simon Salz, and his wife, Sarah Salz, has touched the lives of thousands of young musicians from all over the world.
Tickets to the event are $25. For reservations and information, call 305-238-8937 or visit http://www.youngmusicianscamp.com. Tickets will not be sold/available at the door.
