Frost’s Dean Shelly Berg Appears on National TV with Gloria Estefan

September 12, 2013 — Coral Gables, FL — International superstar Gloria Estefan released her latest album The Standards today, which was arranged, orchestrated and co-produced by the dean of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, Grammy nominated Shelly Berg. The record label is Sony International. Several Frost faculty performed on the recording project including Glenn Basham, Scott Flavin, Ross Harbaugh, and Richard Todd.

Berg joins Estefan throughout the week on several national television shows as she performs selected tracks and talks about the inspiration and making of the album.

In addition to the new CD, Shelly Berg was also music director of a PBS television special that aired in August featuring Gloria Estefan performing many of the songs from "The Standards" with the Frost School's Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, in front of a live audience at the New World Center in Miami Beach.
