Frost School of Music Saxophonist Signs On as a Selmer Paris Artist

September 21, 2012 — Coral Gables — Frost School of Music classical saxophone student Esneider Valencia Hernandez, M.M. ‘10, has signed on as a Selmer Paris Artist.

Originally from Medelin, Columbia, Valencia is currently a doctoral student at the Frost School of Music serving as a teaching assistant and a Henry Mancini Fellow. He studies the saxophone with Dale Underwood and Gary Keller. Versatile in many styles and an advocate for the music of Latin American composers, Valencia often appears as a guest saxophonist with the New World Symphony, South Florida Orchestra, Banda Sinfónica Universidad de Antioquia and Orquesta Filarmónica de Medellin.

Henri Selmer Paris is a French family-owned manufacturer of musical instruments best known for its high-quality woodwind and brass instruments, especially saxophones, clarinets and trumpets.
