November 28, 2013 — Coral Gables, FL — The University of Miami Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music will present its annual holiday gala dinner, Winter Wonderful, on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami.
The festive candlelight dinner features holiday music performed by hundreds of talented student musicians from the Frost School of Music who are pursuing their dream of a life, and career, in music. The goal of Winter Wonderful is to raise $100,000 for music scholarships and programs at the Frost School of Music including the Frost Music-Reach mentoring program that uplifts and encourages young people throughout Miami-Dade County to succeed in school and in life.
Highlights of the evening will include a jubilant cocktail reception, a sumptuous three-course holiday dinner and joyous musical performances by the Frost Chorale, Frost Choral and Frost Holiday Orchestra, featuring holiday carols from around the globe. The music director is Karen Kennedy, program director for Choral Studies at the Frost School of Music. Individual tickets begin at $250 and tables of 10 range from $2,500 to $10,000, and up.
Dean Shelton G. Berg said, “The Frost School of Music’s Winter Wonderful! Holiday Dinner is simply the perfect start to the holiday season. It brings good cheer to new and long-time friends of the University of Miami and patrons of the arts in our community. Best of all, the gala proceeds go directly to support music scholarships and music mentoring programs at Frost.”

The award will acknowledge their inspired and dedicated service to the school, the university, and their support of the arts throughout the community.
