The DownBeat collegiate award winning Frost Studio Jazz Band and the newly formed HMI Nonet welcome the incomparable piano virtuoso and bandleader Danilo Pérez to the Frost School of Music and turn up the heat on his original music in both big band and small group settings. Pérez has earned every conceivable award and worked extensively with Wynton Marsalis, Michael Brecker, Chick Corea, Terence Blanchard, Tito Puente, Paquito D’Rivera, Wayne Shorter, John Patitucci, Brian Blade and many other jazz greats. “Pérez weaves an astonishing, evocative web out of the many distinctive and colorful threads that make up Latin music.” — New York Daily News
