Andres Jaime, conductor
Adam Diderrich, violin
Tomas Cotik, violin

Doctoral conducting candidate Andres Jaime conducts members of the Frost Chamber Orchestra as they perform two classic chamber works by 20th century masters. Adam Diderrich appears as violin soloist in Lou Harrison’s adventurous Concerto for Violin and Percussion.  Harrison is best known for his use of alternate tunings, world music influences, and new instruments. Tomas Cotik then performs the violin role in Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat (“The Soldier’s Tale”) inspired by a Russian parable about a soldier who trades his fiddle to the devil for a book that predicts the future.
