Jason Moran, triple-crown winner in DownBeat’s 59th Annual Critics Poll (jazz artist, jazz album and pianist of the year), is the new musical advisor for Jazz at the Kennedy Center and a 2010 MacArthur Fellow. As a pianist, composer, and bandleader he mines a variety of musical styles to create adventurous jazz performances, blending classical, blues, and jazz techniques with the musical influences of his generation, including funk, hip-hop, and rock.
