Director of Bands Gary Green conducts Le Bal de Béatrice d’Este, a seven movement suite for winds, two harps and piano by Reynaldo Hahn; Symphonies of Wind Instruments (1920/rev. 1947 by Igor Stravinsky, and Music for Prague 1968, a dramatic four-movement work by Karel Husa that is widely considered a wind ensemble classic. The concert will also feature Lauda (“Praise”), a two-movement work by Frost School alumnus Steve Danyew that was commissioned by the Eastman Wind Ensemble.
