Winner of many prestigious awards, including high honors at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1989, Frost faculty piano artist Tian Ying enjoys a worldwide reputation as a pianist of taste, dexterity and artistry. Praised by the Boston Globe as “one of the finest pianists active in America,” Ying presents a solo recital featuring selections that coincide with the release of a new solo CD, The Sonatas, such as the highly expressive Brahms Piano Sonata No. 3, Liszt Piano Sonata in B minor, and Brahms Intermezzi Op. 117. With his reputation for profound interpretations played at the highest level of virtuoso accomplishment, Ying has earned a distinguished place among today’s most exciting, original and accomplished artists of his generation.
