The Frost Wind Ensemble, directed by Robert Carnochan, is an acclaimed ensemble that actively commissions new music, performs for numerous concerts, conferences and festivals throughout the season and has released numerous compact discs on major labels.
Through the generosity of the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation, exceptional young artists at Frost perform in chamber music ensembles of the highest caliber including a string quartet, woodwind quintet, brass quintet and jazz quintet.
The brass chamber music program at the Frost School provides an array of invaluable performance experiences ranging from brass-specific chamber groups such as traditional quintets, quartets, and trios, to like-instrument groups.
The Brass Choir performs demanding repertoire dating from the renaissance to present day. Top students in the brass program receive coaching by outstanding brass faculty and visiting guest artists, and fine-tune their artistry and technique.
