Welcome! Congratulations to you for choosing to enrich your child’s life with the power of music! We are happy to have you in our program. The goal of The Preparatory Program is to develop your child’s individual interests and abilities in music, ranging from music appreciation to preparation for music conservatories.

The Frost School of Music has been recognized as one of the best music schools in the nation. In addition, it offers its students one of the widest choices of career programs including instrumental performance (classical and jazz), music business, media writing and production, and composition to name a few. Our students have the opportunity to be surrounded by talented musicians, which is not only inspiring but also motivating. Our classes take place in state of the art facilities that allow us to take full advantage of all of the latest technology in music.

This year, we are pleased to offer the following classes:

Piano, Classical and Jazz (Group and Private)
Guitar, Classical and Jazz (Group and Private)
Percussion, Classical, Brazilian, and Latin (Group and Private)
Clarinet
Flute
Saxophone
Strings
Music Discovery (4 and 5 year olds)
Music Theory
Music History for Adults

Our newsletter, The Music Note, will be mailed out twice this year. There will be a fall and spring issue. The Music Note will keep you informed of upcoming events along with a listing of achievements made by our students and faculty.

I encourage you to take your children to as many concerts as possible. Throughout the year there are numerous Frost School of Music student and faculty recitals held on campus. Most of the performances are free! Please visit the school of music’s website to see the listing of concerts.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your child!

Sincerely,

Megan Walsh, DMA
