The University of Miami Frost School of Music in conjunction with Connect4education now offers an online course in Basic Music Theory in Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. While primarily intended for high school students around the country whose schools may not offer a course in basic music theory, our program is open to anyone of any age who would like to the improve their basic musical skills.
You will study fundamentals of notation, intervals, scales, rhythm, basic ear training, and triads. The course is taught by Frost School of Music professors, so expert help is never more than a click away, and because the course is online, you are able to access and work on the lessons and practice trainers anytime day or night, using any computer.
The course content is produced and maintained online by Connect4education, the premiere company for online course study in the United States. Normally their material is available only to those enrolled on a college campus, but The Frost School of Music has a special arrangement to make their basic theory course available to anyone interested in improving their basic music skills.
