All students applying to the Frost School of Music must complete three steps:

  • University of Miami Undergraduate Admission Application through the CommonApp.org
  • Frost School of Music applicants are required to submit the music supplemental application. The supplemental form is available to you through SlideRoom or on the Art Supplement tab of your CommonApp. Respond ‘yes’ to the question about being a Frost applicant in order to view the Art Supplement tab.
  • Pre-screening/Music Audition
  • *Please plan to have all your materials, including prescreening media, ready to submit online before you click the ‘submit’ button. 

    Undergraduate Admission Timeline- Freshmen and Transfers:

    Early Action Applicants: - No pre-screening required

  • Apply to both the University of Miami and the Frost School of Music by November 1
  • Select a designated Early Action Audition Date on SlidRoom or the Arts Supplement through the CommonApp
  • Submit Composition and Music Engineering Portfolios online via SlideRoom as part of the Arts Supplement through the CommonApp by December 1
  • Admissions decisions are made in early February
  • Financial aid awards are made mid-March

  • Regular Decision Applicants: - Pre-screening required for all jazz and contemporary instrumentalist/vocalist

  • Apply to both the University of Miami and the Frost School of Music online through the CommonApp.org and the Arts Supplement by December 1
  • Submit a pre-screening online via SlideRoom or as part of the Arts Supplement through the CommonApp by December 1 (all Jazz & Contemporary instrumentalists/vocalists)
  • Select an on-campus audition date, a regional site, or submit a video online via SlideRoom as part of the Arts Supplement through the CommonApp
  • Composition and Music Engineering applicants will be emailed a link to submit their portfolios online by February 1
  • Admissions decisions and Financial aid awards are made mid-March

  • May 1 - Commitment date as set forth by NACAC
