Graduate Conducting Applicants

Choral Conducting Requirements:

All applicants must submit a pre-screening audition, uploaded to DecisionDesk, by December 1.

The pre-screening must be a video that demonstrates 10 minutes of rehearsal and 10 minutes of performance.

Additional requirements include a sample of Scholarly writing (may be a paper from a course, new original work, or published article), official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions, 3 letters of recommendation, a resume or CV, and the application to the Frost School of Music graduate program.

If invited to campus for a live audition, students will receive information directly from the Choral Studies Program.


Instrumental/Orchestral Conducting Requirements:

All applicants must submit a pre-screening audition, uploaded to DecisionDesk, by December 1.

The pre-screening must include:

    •  An unedited video that demonstrates 5-7 minutes of conducting rehearsal and at least one complete work conducted in performance.
    •  An unedited recording (audio or video) demonstrating a high level of proficiency on one’s primary instrument.

Additional requirements include a sample of Scholarly writing (may be a paper from a course, new original work, or published article), official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions, a resume or CV, and the application to the Frost School of Music graduate program.

If invited to campus for a live audition, students will receive information directly from the instrumental/orchestral conducting department.
