Nuevo Tango Miami, Part 1 – the first of two “new tango” concerts at Festival Miami 2012 – honors the growing musical legacy of Argentine bandoneón artist and composer Ástor Piazzolla (1921-1992).  This adventurous concert features the virtuoso Argentine bandoneonist JP Jofre in a compelling nuevo tango concert that fuses the romance and rhythms of a Piazzolla-inspired tango quintet with renowned chamber music artists from Frost.

Sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation by an endowment established in 2001 to provide programmatic support for the Frost School of Music.
