Our 29th annual Festival Miami closes with Karen Kennedy conducting a massive ensemble comprised of the Master Chorale of South Florida, Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir, the Frost Chorale and the Frost Symphony Orchestra performing Carl Orff’s thrilling Carmina Burana, the most popular choral work of this century. Its propulsive rhythms and shimmering beauty have been heard in hundreds of movies (The Doors, Excalibur, Natural Born Killers) as well as TV commercials, but it must be experienced live to fully appreciate its sonic boom of savage sounds and lusty lyrics. Richard Strauss’s flamboyant orchestral tone poem Don Juan is also a program feature.
Presented in collaboration with the Master Chorale of South Florida
